Here's my situation. My parents need a new computer, and so do I. I am going to give them my old computer parts,(AMD 64 3500+, MSI k8n neo2, 9800 pro) and put them in a new computer case for them. This is the case/psu I am getting for them. It is 300 watts, think it will be enough?

My rig is going to be a conroe system. It will be for heavy gaming, Battle Field 2 in particular. Here is it.

-Mobo (Intel P965): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16813121035

-RAM (2gigs corsair): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16820145590

-Video Card(X1900XT):

-CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo (Not sure if I want 6300, 6400, or 6600 yet)

What I am planning on doing, to stay in my budget, is taking their old HD, and putting it in my old rig for them, and taking my HD and putting it in my new computer.

My max budget is $1000, so I really cant add much, cheaper is better for this budget.

For the CPU, with how it will be for gaming, will I even get muchg more out of a 6600 then I would from a 6400 or a 6300? It's mostly just the Graphics card, right?

I already have a 19 inch monitor, sound card, and 5.1 speaker system.

And I appologize for posting this on accident before I had a body typed.

for the same price point, I would choose the gigabyte ds3 if you want to stick with p965 chipset.

for the same price point, I would choose the OCZ platinum 2x1GB cas 4 pc2 6400 OCZ2P8002GK

....or better price is the GSkill 4-4-4-12 PK series.

for gaming on a 19" your x1900XT should pair up well with 6400 or 6300, but I would just go ahead and bite the price premium to get the 4MB L2 low-end 6600.

T minus 10 days til we have a post about a new conroe rig not booting

Remember a Power Supply Unit is the most important part of any system, don't skimp on one. I'd put parts in this order: PSU, GPU, CPU, RAM.
edit: 300 watts for an X1900XT? I know the Core 2 Duo is low power, but 300 watts is way too low for a video card like that.

You're system looks pretty solid (I like your choices), but the Forton-Source in that EverCase only has 13A available on the 12v rail. If it worked it would be stressed fairly hard, not something I'd recommend.

Unless you invested heavily in your case and PSU maybe you should just leave the entire system intact and pick up a new case and PSU for yourself.

Sorry for the misunderstanding, I am not using that cae/psu. I have a 500 Watt liberty, and a nice sturdy case I am using from my old computer. I am going to put my old parts in that case for my parents. (they dont need a fancy case)

Also, my main issue is, which chip I should go with. For my needs, which one would work best for the money? Would the 6600 be an overkill for me?

Yea, I thought 300 might be too little. What do you suggest? I would like to keep it around $50. They would not use it much, and they just need the minimum.

This InWin includes a pretty decent 350 watt PSU with 18A on the 12v rail.

I'll get that one then. It also got good reviews.
