My New Compy!!

Okay, my budget is at about $1700, i have already ordered two WD 200gb SATA harddrives and a s939 3500+ processor. I know the vid card isn't up to spiff, but i won't be playing many graphics intensive games so i think the radeon 9600xt will do fine with 128mb memory on board... Any recommendations fitting my needs/budget will be welcomed thanx

Thanx a lot! I really need this help

seems like a solid system. however if you dont plan on overclocking you might wanna go with PC3200 ram instead since PC3500 wont help ya if you dont overclock. Other than that. Nice system!

I do plan on some oc'ing but not really by that much. I will get a dual layer dvd burner later this year, is that video card powerful enough for my needs or do i need something else? If you could recommend something else in the $140 price range that would be highly appreciated, thanx again

If you don tplan on gaming much that would suffice. unless you could find a used 9800PRO or a 9700PRO. I believe those would be a little speedier. I think new 9800PROs can be found for about $180 if you wanna strech your budget on graphics by a notch. IF you plan on doing modest overclocking without really paying premium then i believe you have done a pretty good job there 🙂

its a good system bro...should very suit your needs for a long time....
but still i prefer intel over amd...and i agree with yanagi about the memory...

OK.. thanx guys i'm gonna order all these components from newegg tonight, and the monitor from patriotpc.us, i'll tell you how my overclocking goes, i might need some help with that later becuz i've never done it... Thanx for the advice though, i might look into another graphics card, but i think this one will suit me fine.

looks good but i'd steer away form the thermaltake stuff, i hear performace is ok but it's overpriced. search the threads for what people recomend for a heatsink.
