My New Computer - Confirm the Last Details Before I Buy. :)

Ok, this is what I decided to get, please tell me if it's ok, or if there are any problems with it. Advices are also welcome.

Monitor - LG 795FT+ 17"
Sound Card - Creative Soundblaster Live! Value
CD-Rom - Samsung 52x

mobo: MSI K7Master or Epox 8K7A, both are cheaper and better than the Asus

Sound card: Turtle Beach Santa Cruz, costs a little more, but well worth it.

You don't need those...


Seriously, get a good HS/fan like those big Taisols, and a good power supply like a 350W Enermax.

personally, i like Taisol, nice and quiet.
get the biggest Taisol you can find.

I agree, A7M266 is a great board, but K7 Master is cheaper, and Epox 8K7a+ is cheaper and has more features.

I wouldn't spend over 20 bucks on a HSF, its money wasted unless ua re planning on overclocking it to its death.

If you are not overclocking at all, you might consider a retail boxed cpu which contains an AMD approved HSF. The Epox 8K7A is just less expensive and has tons of features for overclocking. The MSI K7 Master is a compromise between the two. Why only a 17&quot; monitor and a CD-ROM instead of a DVD-ROM?

Don't DVD-ROMs cost essentially the same as a high-speed CD-ROM?

I got my pioneer DVD Rom for about $45.

Eventhough ya don't need it now, doesn't mean that you wont need it in the future.

I guess you don't NEED the DVD, it just adds flexibility to your system. As for the bigger monitor, you should be able to get a decent 19&quot; for less than $100 more than a decent 17&quot; and man is the extra screen space worth it! The 21&quot; monitors are considerably more expensive than the 19&quot; ones because they are less common and not as many companies make them, but the 19&quot; monitors are very mainstream. I wouldn't consider less than that for a new computer, but that's just me. As he types away on a 15&quot; laptop screen right now...

Drop the cash and get a 19&quot;. You'll thank yourself for it later.

Plus you wont go blind.

I agree with purchasing a good monitor. Personally, I prefer Sony Trinitron FD tubes.

Then K7 Master is for you, it is the most stable 760 board when not oced. Great board.
