thats odd b/c here in saint louis all I see is G35s. probably literally 10-1 ratio. I've been on the lookout for about a month now. another reason why i was leaning toward the Z.

i see more G35 in Chicago too

I see more 350Z in Chicago Suburbs.. hrm

Definetely the G35. Honestly, this is the car I want more then any other. With the exception of maybe the Evo. The 2 door is the sexiest car on the road as far as I'm concerned, and although it looks a lot like the 350z and is almost identical in every other way, the G35 just looks 10x better. I love the spoiler on the 2 door as well. Plus its better looking on the interior, and has 4 seats. I only know a couple people who think the 350 looks better, and I think they're insane. But whatever floats your boat.

Take your pic based on that. g35 may have better resale, but infiniti has among the best for customer service, while nissan's is among the worst (this according to jd power and anecdotal I've read), so I'd go with infiniti just for that. You'll get a lender car when you take it in for service with infiniti, for instance.

I think I see more G35s as well, but it's just a better car.

The G35 is gorgeous and the 350z looks like a fat woman.

Nissan = Infiniti

Yah Skoorb... Nissan = Infiniti dude! :p

Yup Im mostly around the Naperville/Lisle area, but 88 and 355 usually have several 350's and very few G35 (though I see a "few" 35's driving around parking lots, just not on the road)

wow, seems like overwhelming support for the G35. people brought up a lot of points that I have been feeling like the 4 seats and the better interior. Prob gonna get the G35 unless the Z blows me away on the test drive.

as for student loans, dont worry bout me, got it covered. On a different subject, dont rip on doctors for making big salaries, most from my school graduate with about 150K in debt from med school alone, this doesnt count their undergrad loans. Thats a lotta $ to pay back when the juice is running.

Yes i currently go to SLU med school, but didnt go there for undergrad.

BTW, a BMW 330Ci Performance would completely PWN a G35 Coupe in just about every respect!

Performance Package adds the following to a standard 330Ci:

235-horsepower engine
More aggressively tuned sport suspension
8-way power front sport seats with 2-way manual headrests and thigh support;
3-driver memory for exterior mirror and seat positions;
automatic tilt-down of passenger?s side-view mirror when vehicle is shifted into reverse gear
Anthracite interior headliner
Alcantara/cloth upholstery
Aluminum ?black cube? interior trim
M 3-spoke leather-wrapped multi-function sport steering wheels with fingertip cruise, audio and accessory phone3 controls
M Double Spoke (Styling 135M) alloy wheels, 18 x 8.0 front, 18 x 8.5 rear; 225/40R-18 front, 225/35R-18 rear performance tires7,11
High-Gloss shadowline exterior trim
Matte stainless steel, 35mm dual exhaust pipes
Aerodynamic package
Tachometer with 300 rpm-higher redline and red needles
Short, sport gearshift lever

Nissan = Infiniti
Contribution to thread = dubious.

Infiniti's customer service is top of the heap right now, and nissan's is well at the bottom. They are different, just as you'll get different between acura/honda or toyota/lexus. As I mentioned, check with JD power if you have anything to contribute.

How would it own it in every aspect? The G35 already has more power, so I pretty much guarentee it would womp the Bimer in the 1/4 or 0-60. As for handling and braking, MotorTrend had nothing but HUGE things to say about it. Plus you can get the G35 with AWD now, or maybe its coming to the next years model. If I wasn't sick today, I'd go find some Slalom data, I bet the G35 holds its own there too.

Plus, when all is said and done I think the G35 would be less expensive.

Its all opinion, but nothing on the road is sexier then the G35 for me, that goes double for the newer Bimer designs which I quite simply can't stand.

EDIT :: OK, I didn't look really hard. But I was right on the 0-60 and 1/4 times. The G35 is quite a bit quicker.

G35
330ci

As people always say, BMW's Inline horses tend to be deceiving. The 330Ci Performance can sprint to 60 MPH in 5.9 seconds (BMW numbers) vs. 6.1 seconds for a 2003 G35 Sport Coupe with a 6-speed MT and 280 HP (R&T numbers).

And the current 330Ci Performance is still built on the classy, beautiful E46 platform. Interior quality of the Bimmer BEATS THE PANTS off of the G35. The BMW retails for around $45K.

That 5.9 is still not 5.5 like with the G35. G35 still out performs it, at least in performance. Which was what I was trying to do, prove you wrong when you said:

BTW, a BMW 330Ci Performance would completely PWN a G35 Coupe in just about every respect!

I don't think it PWNS the G35 in any respect. Like I said, if I could find some handling and braking stats without digging too far (I already looked briefly and only found the 0-60 and other performance data) then I'd post it and I believe the G35 would hold its own or actually do better then the Bimmer.

The G35 is also about $35k when all is said and done, so thats 10k less then the Bimmer at its base price which would probably turn out to be $50k when all is said and done. Not to mention how inexpensive and easy it is to get hop up parts for the G35 since it shares the platform with the 350z. Finding hop-ups for the BMW is much harder, much more expensive, and much more difficult to install. Trust me, I've already looked at Nismo and other performance parts for the G35, drooling over it all the time, just dreaming that I will some day own one.

Thats me though, I would hop this bad boy up with at least exhaust and intake if nothign else. I would spend A LOT less over all, even if I put $5k in hop-ups in the G35 I'm still probably going to be 10k or more under the Bimmers price. I just don't see how the Bimmer competes at all, on any level. The G35 is just so sexy, the M3 is the only Bimmer that matches it in that department, which you wouldn't need to hop-up.

I just think realistically, and realistically I could afford a G35. Not an M3.

I have a 350Z and it's my daily driver.. obviously my vote goes for the Z, but it's all about opinion... if you want something with a better quality interior, then the G is for you... my car definitely isnt comfortable to sit in for a long time, but it's not back-breaking either

i'll tell you now that just test driving a Z probably isnt gonna sell you... it takes some getting used to and getting comfortable with, both driving and sitting

but the 350Z is definitely a FUN car to drive and i look forward to driving it every freakin time... i even take the long way home sometimes so i can drive it just a little bit more :p
