Congrats!!! A new car is always great. Brand new = no worries b/c if anything goes wrong, tell the dealer to come tow it and fix it.

Best of luck! Please don't rice it out. No fart-can muffler, Shogun-Muzzi-Warrior front nosepiece, 17-foot wing, etc. Nice rims and lowering springs/shocks are OK though.

Well, I still paid over invoice......about $20,000.....they had been asking around $24000-$25000(highway robbery). I got it for $500 down...with tax and license about $22,000 out the door.

Front wheel drive and "great handling"? You need to get behind the wheel of some cars that have their driven wheels in the rear as God intended.

not my cup of tea, but kudos to you. I gotta give the Toyota designers props; they did a good job of making the Celica look fast, at least. It looks like a mini-supercar.

I will keep the engine, drivetrain and exhaust all stock. But rims are a consideration, like 16"-17" would improve already great handling. The exhaust is already nice, and as people say, the car is already tuned for performance and long term reliability. But some nice rims, nice and silver would rock with low profile high traction tires.

Actually, before I even got it off the lot their delivery guy banged my front bumper, they fixed it the next day with a brand new bumper and support. I take it back in a week to have the wing replaced since there is a scratch on it.

My first new car and yes, warranty is very nice, no worries. Already got several compliments on it from family, car wash and misc. people.

should have gotten the manual, but there's certainly something to be said for a semi-sporty car that gets 35MPG with great reliability.

<-- had a 1989 Celica ST.

i hope you wont come anywhere near those speeds... you have the non sport version with a 4 speed automatic. That car is not safe at those speeds even thought you feel it's got "great handling".

It's a neat little compact car, but its not a sportscar...so be aware of it ;)

same reason why I would never buy a Lexus, unless obviously the extremely hot deal. Have a 96 camry in the family, and when you drive a lexus, it feels like a toyota, the car has no soul.

Congrats on the new car. I'm not really a Celica fan, but I hope you like it.

I hear you on the unsafe speeds. I figure about 80 is a comfortable at max cruising speed for this vehicle. I do love the quiet interior on these.

My first car was a Subaru Brat (1984/16 didn't care what it was as long as a car), then a VW Bug(1976/traded it after a month), then a Subaru Legacy(1996/just not sporty or anything), Honda Passport(1999/gas guzzler) and they were all used. So a new car is a welcome addition. :)
