i don't think so. the seagate's that you chose were only 80gb versions, and the microsoft xp that you chose was "home" as opposed to "professional" as for the case, i don't care for the window thingy

thanks for the post!

THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH for catching this!

It has nothing to do with what the "tech's say" or if the motherboard is updated or not... the memory controller is on the CPU... you can do whatever you want to the motherboard, but the memory controller on the CPU requires registered ECC RAM.

I ma pretty sure it does NOT have to be ECC just registered. As others have stated.

If you use crucial's memory selector it'll return ecc registered as the choices. States in the motherboard specs. Support max 8GB registered PC2700 / PC2100/ PC1600 ECC DDR SDRAM memory
I think if the memory is registered then it's ecc. They usually say registered ECC.

yes, the 9800 XT only comes in 256MB flavors. The card is faster then anything out there and you get half life 2 with it.

I don't see oalbarez playing it 😉

Looks ok to me, just as long they put it together right. I would of went with one 160 segate for data then 1 36 Raptor for OS and programs, but that's just me.

update: mwave.com did not have the proper ram, they were actually going to use their own version of 2100 speed registered ram. i purchaed DDRAM 1GB TwinX1024RE-3200LLPT RT from newegg.com which has already shipped. interestingly enough, mwave.com had a back order until 12/09 for the ati 9800xt 256 vid card which i also purchased from newegg.com.

thanks again for everyone's help on this one. looking forward to loading up some resource intensive game!

regards
