Got mine working.

Basically reformatted and was very careful about what mobo drivers I put on (started out just NIC, then added Bus but nothing else). Make certain you say no when it asks about the network access programs/firewall.

Hey guys - OK, so here is a run down of installation...
I had to unplug my second sata hdd as setup was taking forever! When it did get to setup xp, my second disk was not accessable?? Wierd I reckon - I am sure it used to recognise my second disk with its 2 partitions :-S. Everything went fine once unplugged.

Installed sp1 , dvdrw died through sp2, changed drive. installed sp 2 again and other gear one at a time like sound card pvr and usb devices. Downloading prob is fixed thanks to not instaling the stupid network access program, however, the pvr software still would not run from cd - had to d/load it from leadtek. I have left the on board sound disabled in the bios.

Finally - I do not have any sound in Halflife 2??? All other games sound fine. I dont suppose you guys would know why?

You using a seperate sound card? I know after I installed Rome: Total War Barbarian Invasion it would not allow me to select EAX sound so I had to reinstall the drivers for my Audigy2. Its working fine now.

Just seems real wierd as I have the on board sound dissabled in the bios, so it should head right for the sound blaster right away??!!?? Stupid puters lol!
