:)

The new motherboard is running... XP1600 CPU. Volcano 7+ is keeping the processor at under 40C each time I check.... Looks good so far.

I have a few questions I'm sure I can get answers for.

The Samsung PC2700 ram that I got said is was 2700, but on bootup is registers 2100. Did I miss something? I got it from Newegg, and I'm sure it said 2700. Also, what are you guys using to monitor the system after it is running? I want to be able to look at CPU temp without haveing to boot again.

Next, I'm gonna try overclocking a little.... those settings to do that are in the CMOS, right?

Thanks for the input guys....

Check the BIOS settings for the RAM - maybe you can set the memory speed to 166MHz. However, I don't know if this will also set the processor bus speed to 166 too - the computer might not be able to boot at that CPU bus speed.

No you read it correctly. At default FSB 133 it will read as PC266 (DDR2100) which is correct. If you are sure it is PC2700 then you should be able to set the memory at 4:5 which will run it at DDR2700 speeds (FSB:MEM). You should leave the mem at SPD or AUTO when increasing to 4:5.
Remember if you overclock to FSB 166 then leave memory at 1:1 or SPD.

I have the 8k5a2+ as well and I use a combination of MBM5 and CoolMon to monitor temps.

All you have do is install MBM5, and set up the temp readings, then you don't have to run it again if you set up coolmon.
CoolMon uses a .dll file from MBM5.
