King Kong HD looks fantastic!

Dude, you bought a Sony. Gross.

Sammie ftw!

kidding me?
Sony's have, and this really isn't debatable, the best picture quality in large screen displays.
sometimes they have an off-model and Samsung is there to take the reign, but lately Sony's have been in a class of their own. Especially the SXRD models (LCOS). damn if only I could afford those.
instead, I got me a 32" Sharp Aquos (LC32D41U, the model that Sharp makes in their new factory, not the 40U made by Orion, blech).

Umm, my pioneer 50" plasma blows the sony out of the water. I'll try to post a couple picks later. Every one that comes over just looks at the screen in shock to how good the picture is.

nice tv and congrats on your hd-dvd player? what movies do you have?

oh, and is the tv capable of 1080p?

I have King Kong that came with the player and Jarhead, It is not capable of 1080p, but that was a personal choice of mine. I had about 1400 to spend after selling my sharp aquos and size and overall picture was most important for me. Now stop the flame war! 😛

Sure, the SXRD line is...for lack of a better word, amazing, but their standard, run of the mill, LCDs (like the OP has) leave a lot to be desired. They're not bad, but there are better out there.

<--- Has a LCD Sony. 😀

OP- The colors look real washed out...it looks like you have the contrast maxed out. If you care about the life of the bulb I'd get that TV adjusted ASAP.

Absolute fanboy BULLSH1T. Sony's IQ has gone down over the years and they are a shell of their former self.

You may not think it's debatable, but take that BS argument over to AVS forum and let them teach you something about AV.

I think looking at TV's is all SUBJECTIVE...there will always be sammys vs. sony vs. pioneer. The pioneer elite plasma is the most beautiful tv i have ever seen. but alas, i cannot afford it. so i settled for this one and it was in my budget. I just wanted to show people what I just got. its an upgrade over what I had last. so lets have some grey goose and lets just revel in the glory that is 50 inches! woo!

Does anyone know why I can no longer get on pics.bbzzdd.com

I thought it was down the first time but its been weeks and clearly others can get on the site. WTF
