My network connection squeaks?

I posted earlier thinking my new hard drive was making a squeaking noise, it isn't the drive, it's coming from the LAN port from an Asus Crosshair mobo, I was already going to RMA the thing because the first lan port didn't work at all. I've just NEVER heard of a LAN port making noise. What's really strange is when you right click the network connection the sound will reduce til you click away from it again. Truly bizarre. Otherwise the system seems to run just fine, and the one lan port works ok. Oh well, now I have to wait a couple weeks to get new board back. 🙁 Has anyone ever heard of such a thing? Or is this just me! 🙂

That is strange. Could the squeak be an electric "zip/zap" sound? Either way seems like there's something wrong with it; RMA.

yeah, that's just what it's like, really irritating. Off to RMA, at least I have my Athlon 2500 system to keep me going til the new board gets in.

Funny you should mention this... I've noticed on a couple of occaisions that my router will "squeek" when there is activity.

If I watch the lights and listen to the squeeks... the flashing corresponds to the noise. It sounds like a pack of mice.

I haven't noticed any problems with the router, and it doesn't happen all the time, so who knows whats causing it.

In case anyone reads this post in the future, it was the nvidia firewall causing the noise from the port, I removed it and it was gone! Yeah!!!

My A8R32-MVP squeaked/buzzed when my CPU was thinking 😛 RMA'd the board because it screwed up on me, we'll see if the replacement does the same or not..
