Hey went on a site that I don't approve of and I'm now concerned that my computer is infected. I have AVG installed but I doubt that's enough.

Post a HijackThis Log for someone to check.
Run updated AVG & SUPERAntispyware in Safe Mode

Which browser are you using? Did he download anything, or just look at the site?

Also, use Internet Explorer to run F-Secure's online scanner at http://www.f-secure.com/security_center. The F-Secure scanner uses better antivirus engines than AVG, so it's a good "second opinion" as to outright infection. The HijackThis suggestion is another good one.

In the future, you might want to try non-Admin user accounts and other security steps. Also, realize that any site can be turned malicious if the bad guys hack it, and it's estimated that about half the malicious sites out there are normally-safe sites that got hacked. Keep your guard up.

Nothing came up, I checked with HiJack, and used some other progs.

I would set up non-admin but no one touches my computer but me, so I just set it to require me to put in a password.

Thanks!

Even then, if your computer is attacked by an exploit, non-Admin operation is a big safeguard. Do you buckle your seatbelt when it's a car that only you have the keys to? Well all rightie then ;)
