So I just got home from a thanksgiving vacation over which I spent almost the entire time playing with my 6 month old nephew. My sis said she was worried about one of his eyes and that she was going to take him to a specialist...this was yesterday (her BIRTHDAY).

I didnt hear back, but I was downloading the pics that I took of him and I found out that almost all of them came out sort of like the pic here.

Oddly enough I googled the answer before I heard officially from my sis.


If any of you out there pray, say one for the little guy.

I can only hope his prognosis is good since it was caught early.

 
It sucks that it's a genetic thing. Well, it would suck no matter how it happened.

I hope the docs can take care of your nephew's eye(s). 🙁
 
Best wishes to him... bad crap happens and for those of us who are not doctors we may only defeat such things with kindness, compassion, and love toward both the sick and healthy alike.

Two of my nieces went through major surgeries before they were 2. It really sucks. The only positive aspect is that doctors today can do a whole lot of good things.

I hope your nephew comes out OK.
 
I'm not one to cry, but I literally got tears in my eyes from those pics and the descriptions. Hope the little guy is ok.

hopefully everything will be ok since they caught it early. what is weird as that it should have been known by the genetic tests they usually do. unless your sister didn't have them done...
 
Working/interning at a cancer institute, you see this all the time. However, it still sucks every single time you read a case/see a patient, but you also feel proud that the patients are getting the best care possible and you are doing your best to help them out.

Prayers to your family and I hope that he gets the best care possible.

Medicine can cure a cancer, but it takes love from family and friends to cure a disease.
