My neck hurts really bad, is there anything I can do to get me through the weekend?

I'm not sure why, but my next has started to really hurt since last night, enough that I woke up half a dozen times during the night. I can turn a little to the left, but not at all to th right, and it hurts just looking forward or laying down. Since all the chiropracters are closed on the weekend, is there anything short of suicing or sedation I can do to get me through the weekend? I;ve already taken a bunch of Aleve.

Usually when my neck hurts I try to stretch it a lot which only makes it worse. Get a neck brace or one of those cheesy neck massagers at the store and watch some football till Monday. Least that's what I'd do...

Winnar!

That happened to me a while back, I was tired & fell asleep on the couch for ~3 hours... woke up barely able to move my head. Lasted a few solid weeks in my case, that really sucked. Was so odd because I'm normally very healthy in all respects; stuff like that just doesn't happen to me. I just drank a lot 😀

Do you toss and turn a lot at night? I have neck problems on the left side, and if I sleep on my right I can't move my head the next morning.

And some chiropractors are open on weekends. I have my first appointment in 50 minutes.

last time my neck hurt so bad I ended up going to my chiropractor for an adjustment. I felt so much better after a couple of visits

Sore neck can mean any number of things, some serious.

If it really bothers you that much, go to the emergency room.

Sarcastic Dwarf...what you need is a neck massage. I would give you one myself..but am currently out of the country. : )

Get your wife or gf to give you one. Also, DON'T SLEEP on a WATERBED..another tell tale sign of why your neck is hurting! You need a stiffer bed that will give your body appropriate neck support. I would suggests laying down a mat and sleeping on the floor for a couple of nights.

DON'T GO TO THE CHIROPRACTOR!!!! This is my other suggestion. I had NEVER HAD AN ACHE in my body until I started my acc. internship. At the company, they had a chiropractor come every wed, and for $5 he'd "realign" your spine...crack a few bones here and there... I didn't want to, but my coworkers insisted..

I got it done, and LET ME TELL YOU...my back HURT SOOOO BAD for the next month. I kid you not. He royall fvcked up my back...

I think my body had grown used to the way it was..with no pain, and when he popped my back etc..he just messed my alignment all up...so don't go to chiropractors!!!

Follow the above suggestions..and trust me, you will feel a lot better.

🙂

your pal,
