I did something to it at the gym with my fake exercise program. On monday I did the "leg sled" and some dumbell curls while standing. Top of back/bottom of neck feels pinched, maybe the muscle going to the shoulder. Limited head movement etc.

It was pretty rough monday night and tuesday, but by tuesday night it was feeling better and yesterday almost all good, until I tried to do a pulldown on a machine at the gym and pow it's back again.

if you woke up like that, and its just tender when you move it, give it a day or two to just go away. until then you're gonna have to deal with it [which will suck]

My real question is why did I randomly have "backaid" back medicine in my medicine cabinet. It's basically a big shot of ibuprofen(1000 mg) but it also has a diuretic in it(WTF)

Not my neck. Here is my fake workout - I do some leg/back stretches, then run 3 miles or bike for 60 minutes. I do 3 sets of dumbell curls, and the leg sled. I might throw in a random machine. I need to schedule a sit down with a personal trainer and learn some more exercises and proper form so I can make some decent gains, but I'm still working on slimming down the beer belly a little bit more so just doing the cardio regularly is a good thing.

Could be minor, could be major. I had the same exact problem after a gym workout last summer. I took a few days off, went back and it started hurting again. Went to the doctor, got a cortisone shot in my a$$ and took another week off from the gym. Went back to work out, screwed my neck up even worse and wound up having a disk removed from my neck, cadaver bone inserted and titanium plate put in back in August.

My point is that you really need to give it a lot of rest, even when you think you feel well enough to work out again. Otherwise, you're going to do even more damage and you could end up in the same boat I found myself in.

Ugh. I'm hoping it's not that bad, but it's definetly being put onto rest. I'll probably try doing my cardio on the exercise bike for a little while as it will jostle less.

I wasn't doing anything insane, I did go up 5 lbs but it was just a barbell curl. I was still doing 10+ reps so it's not like I was pushing for a crazy 1 rep max.

I do get a little silly loading up the weight on the leg sled, but i can't see how that would actually strain my neck or shoulders at all.
