What's wrong with a personal nickname? If anything, its a friendly gesture. Usually, the people nicknamed Big-<insert name> are buff, muscular guys - the type nobody would wanna mess-with/fight. So feel proud: they probably are a lil' in awe of your physique. (Unless of course, you are big on account of having a beer-belly). Even then, Big Dave is better than Chubby Dave.
