My MP3's Have Disappeared AGAIN! Can you Help???

Ok, the first time I thought maybe it was a fluke, or someone had inadvertantly deleted the music, but now it's happened a second time, right before my eyes! Most of my MP3 music in my music folder was wiped off my computer. I had over 350 songs on my computer this time, and had spent about an hour downloading a few new ones and was preparing to use Nero to burn a CD. I had all the songs dragged over to burn and started the burn process. A few seconds into the burn, I heard a message pop up, so I figured it must have been a bad CD. Well, the message said the MP3 could not be found. So I opened explorer, and low and behold the song was gone, along with most of the rest of my music. I did a search for one of my songs and it was found in a temp folder for RealOne, but when I clicked to play it, it said the file was not found. The first time this happened several months ago, I used a recovery program (Recover4All) and found most of the music, but it was all corrupted and screwed up after I recovered it back to my PC. So I had to pretty much start from scratch downloading music again. And now it has happened a second time. Anyone have any clue what could be going on, and how I can STOP it? Also, does anyone have a clue if this music can be recovered somehow?

A very interesting one. I presume you're running Kazaa?
Could the Kazaa shutdown/reactivation have had something to do with this?

Might I also suggest buying your CD's?

first things first, in nero, simply select the folder from which to burn and move the files onto the cd writer, don't move files from your folder to the cd through windows, yes kazaa could potentially delete these files, if it thinks you deleted them, I would put the files into another folder separate from kazaa, and lastly, I too would suggest purchasing the music, as you won't ever have to worry about losing the files in hdd related problems.

My guess is your PC is exposed on a network to shared-drive access in Windows and somebody is deleting them for you. If you're running NT, 2000 or XP, grab the Microsoft Baseline Security Tool.

It'll tell you if you're retarded.
