My mp3 player won't show up in Media Player!

I just built a new system and upgraded my Windows Media Player to v 9. Now, my Rio 600 mp3 player doesn't show up in the list of portable devices in Media Player OR Music Match! I can't get tunes into my player! Specs are below. Please help! I've tried everything in the help sections of media player!

Win XP Home
Rio 600 player w/ USB connection
Windows automatically detects the device and loads the drivers once it is plugged in. BUT, none of my media players see it as a portable device.
 
Bump since its an older thread.

My question when do you plug your Rio to the usb port? Maybe it needs to be already plugged in before you boot up so it initializes?
