I almost lost my Mother to the same thing at age 7, I remember being so scared so many years ago.

A funeral of a relative I attended some years ago, there was something said by the pastor that was such a comfort..

"When a person passes away, we are sad to see them go, much as someone might stand on the shore and wave goodbye to a friend or loved one on a boat going far away, but never forget, the ones that passed before her are waiting on the other shore, standing there watching and exclaiming "here she comes" and are waiting to welcome her home".

<bows head silently for a moment>

My deepest sympathies. I lost my father 43 days ago from Pancreatic Cancer :( The reality of the situation still hasn't hit me fully. I still walk in the door expecting to see him there.

I'm sorry for your loss as well. My aunt also died from colon cancer. I visited my aunt the last few days she was alive and what I saw in the hospital did not looked like my aunt but an empty shell of the person she was. She could not talk, breath, squeeze her hands, and all she kept doing was giving a blank stare that never blinked. Cancer is a terrible disease and I hope we find a cure for it.
This also serves as a reminder to cherish the people around you and not take them for granted. Tell them how much you love them before it's too late.
