My Monster is now fully functional (system rig specs inside)

Well, I finally got all kinks worked out of this new system. It is a true MONSTER

Specs:

APEX Supercase full tower
Sparkle 350 Watt PSU
Tyan Tiger 133 Dual Slot 1 motherboard
Dual Slot 1 P III 800 EB Processors
512 Megs PC 133 Kingston RAM
Voodoo5 5500 AGP Grapics card
1 15 GIG Maxtor ATA 100 7200 RPM hdd On IDE1
56x CD ROM on IDE2
3COM 3C908C TXM SERVER CARD
MAXTOR ATA 100 PCI card
hooked to the Maxtor card:
2 MAXTOR ATA 100 20 GIG 7200 RPM HDDS
2 MAXTOR ATA 100 15 GIG 7200 RPM HDDS

Now this is where you folks who are fan crazy will get FAN ENVY:
1 120 MM FAN blow hole cut in top of case
3 80 mm Fans
1 92 MM Fan
1 Golden ORB on Processor1
2 on the Voodoo 5 5500 card
2 fans on a HS/FAN combo (not enough room for another orb)
Then each HDD has 2 fans infront of it for a total of 10

Final fan count 20!!!

running Win 2K Pro with all updates.

I am about to add another 256 megs of PC 133 RAM.


As my wife said, "'Bout damn time you finished that thing, now clean this place up!"

Once MY dsl is installed (sometime in August), I will be running a UT server on it, as well as a Q3A server. I will be getting ADSL then.

Now that I can get workstation on it ok, I will fudge around a bit and see about getting W2K SERVER on it, and possibly hosting web pages. But definately a UT Server.

I went through that stage... would throw in 2 more huge fans to get a few degrees temp drop so I could eek out 30mhz more. My hardware tastes have since matured and I have a much smaller case, 2 total fans (including PS fan), and I feel the need to upgrade much less often. My wife, my wallet, and my ears are thankful

This is actually My MP3 Server, UT server, and File and Print server. It sits in the corner and just stays there untill it is asked to serve up something. I have 4 other systems in the ouse, so this is just a project that went really big!
