Is there some type of utility or program or something to help incrase the brightness on my screen?

I dont know why mine's so dark since it isnt that old, but its hard to play a lot of games with it...

oh, and before you make fun of me for being stupid, yes, I did adjust it to the max on my monitor's buttons, and yes i have played with in-game settings.

Some games are fine, like Quake 3 -based games, but games like half-life are like trying to play your GBA in an unlit closet.
 
and yes, they do have settings...

Im not sure about the display properties thing, but like i said, putting the gamma up to max in games like half-life do nothing for me... Quake 3 works fine in the gamma department, but the half-life is whats killing me
