My monitor screen goes pink sometimes..WHY?

My monitor screen jumps into a pink color sometimes..then it will jump right back to original setting...any advice..

Best bet is a bad connection. Although one of the color guns could be dying. Speakers and magnets usually cause green/blue discoloration but you may want to make sure that you don't have any unsheilded speakers or magnets close to your monitor. This could also be caused by the signal from a cordless phone (so if it only happens when your sister is on the phone then you have an answer...although the least likely one).

I would guess that the CRT is going out (or one of the color guns, as Thorin called them) since exactly the same thing is happening to one of my older monitors. I had it checked out, and that was the diagnosis, but they wanted more to fix it than a new monitor would cost me, so I'm dealing with induced 'color-blindness' for a while.. 🙂

I had that happen to me. someone made my monitor cable loose. and it made my
monitor go red and the back to normal. it could be your cable. or your monitor
is on its last legs.

It's a girly monitor🙂 Just joking - most likely the video card. I had a similar problem with green tinting and it was the card.

Your monitor is trying to get in touch with its feminine side and is encouraging you to do the same.

Check your cables and walls for any sort of EM interference 🙂

I know...I know..by monitor is coming out of the closet...
Thanks for all the concern. I know its not a speaker or phone..I'm guessing the same ..bad gun or connection..when I get home will check the connection...vid card is relatively new...so I don't think thats it..

Yeah, check the connection... if there are missing pins then definitely is it.. i had teh same thing with one of my older monitors, but instead of pink it went green.

Most of the factors that the other guys mentioned can be the trouble.

If it just happened without any hardware changed made, it is probably the end of the Monitor?s life.

If it happened after you plugged or unplugged, any of the cables mentioned then check what ever you did.
