My monitor keeps randomly flashing black...

It could take a few hours, or it could be five minutes in between, but my monitor keeps going black for about a second, comes back on for about a second, goes black for a second again, then comes back on. It happened six times in a row a short time ago. I don't know what the problem is. I have the latest Catalyst drivers and everything, but it's been happening with the past few releases anyway. Here are my (relavent) specs:

A64 3000+ Venice
MSI RS480M2-IL
1 GB Corsair VS Dual Channel
Radeon Xpress 200 IGP
Samsung SyncMaster 730B (Analog connection)

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

OK, I just tried to play a game and it went insane. Almost total black. I managed to exit the game and post here by catching the quick glimpses I could see. I really need help here. Thanks.

I get that when I access the drivers when they poll the hardware (the IGP), but thats the only time. It sounds very similar. It does sound driver related, but it could be related to your display as well. Start with something easy like a different cable?

That sounds worse, like the driver can't set the resolution properly. Maybe try cleaning the drivers completely with driver cleaner, and reinstall.

I do get the black screen also when I open CCC, etc. First I'll try doing simple things like restarting my computer. If nothing works, I'll reinstall the drivers and see what happens.

Restarting it seems to have worked...Though I don't know why...
