my monitor is freakin out!!!!

i have a ibm p260 and the thing is acting crazy!!

i had the refresh rate to optimal then i changed it to 85....now when i open and close things, i get trails and residual pictures!!!

is 85 too high?? if that's not the problem, wtf is going on!!?? PLEASE HELP!!!

What resolution are you running at?
Yeah.. try set it to 80 or 75 to see if the problem persists.

It's a good idea to check out the manual of your monitor to see its maximum resolution / refresh rate combination. Or you can tell windows to only display supported refresh rate.

When a monitor still partially works with scan rates that are too high or a picture that's too wide or tall, the picture will tear (often at the top) or appear folded over (usually at the bottom, but sometimes at the side), but otherwise nothing will be added to or taken from the picture. This is assuming that the monitor will even allow operation out of range, and digitally-controlled monitors rarely do. So I believe your problem is more related to the video card or its driver program.
