At our toughest moments we find what we can truly be.

Well, I called the hospital a couple times last night and this morning. I had to stay with my cousins to make sure they could go to school, but one is sick and staying home. They said all of her blood work is showing an okay cardiac enzyme and it looks good. They took her off the anti-coagulant(SP?) that they had her on too. Her doc also thinks that part of the pain may have been from all the coughing she's been doing. (She also has bronchitis. 🙁 ) I'm leaving in just a few minutes to go see her again. I'll tell her about all of your thoughts and prayers going out. I appreciate it!

Hope your Mom feels better soon

and hope you two get better cars or at least better mechanics!
You're tellin' me! UGH 😉 heehee

Well, they don't think it's her heart. 😀 We're not sure exactly what's going on, but we'll find out. 🙂

If her enzymes came back ok her heart is probably ok too. I am sure they did echocardiograms and all the other fancy tests on her to eliminate a cardicac problem. The anti-coagulant was to thin out her blood just in case she did in fact have a partial blockage in one of her coronary arteries. That is standard practice so dont let it worry you. (or your mother)

It sounds like it is more pulmanary related because the pain changed with her coughing. If you are nice and fortunate, it is just from some chest congestion and that is all. Tell your mother that the feeling can be the same though, so she did the right thing going to the hospital. Any patient of mine with chest pain goes to the ER, you do not pas go, and you do not collect $200.

I am glad to hear it was nothing major. Your mother problably had extensive tests so she should not have any problems at all for years to come.

David, paramedic (we deal with many more cardiac events than ER doctors do....)

P.S. Your mothers doctors may or may not explained all of this to her, sometimes they are so busy they can't. If what I said did not answer any questions please PM me. Many of my patients talk to me after the fact just to ask questions, and I am glad that they do.

EDIT: the reason they get to talk to me is because of our transport times, usually longer than a doctors visit in the office. I also talk to them in words that they can understand and they thank me for it. They usually say "thanks, I never knew that". Just ask your mother, I am sure she has many questions.

I just noticed that the title was she was in the "ICU", why is that??

It does not sound like a cardiac event, although I cannnot read her 12 lead, but why is she there? Does she now have pneumonia?

She was in the CCU and not the ICU. lol Sorry about that. I thought she was in the ICU at first, but when I went to the hospital, I noticed it was the CCU. They put her there, because at that time, they still thought it was her heart.

The ultrasound of her stomach, as far as I know, was okay too. So, I'm guessing that it was just the coughing from her bronchitis....but we still don't know. She got moved to a regular room today (I think it's a regular room any way. I need to go see her still.) and I'm hoping that she will be able to come home. *Fingers crossed while praying* 😉 heehee

I appreciate all the help y'all. And David, if she has questions, I'll be sure to ask. 🙂

Well, my mommy is back home. 😀 They said that they thought it was gastro esophageal. She's doesn't think it was that, though. It really felt like her heart, but everything looks good, so thank you for your thoughts and prayers. 😀

YAY! 😀 😀 😀 😀

Speaking of "gastro esophageal", just got this oldy emailed to me:
  • An elderly woman is riding in an elevator in a very lavish
New York City building, when a young and beautiful woman
gets into the elevator, smelling of expensive perfume.
She turns to the old woman and says arrogantly,
"Romance" by Ralph Lauren $150. an ounce!"

Then another young and beautiful woman gets on the elevator,
and also very arrogantly turns to the old woman saying,
    "Chanel # 5, $200 an ounce!"

About three floors later, the old woman has reached her
destination and is about to get off the elevator. Before
she leaves, she looks both beautiful women in the eye,
then bends over and loudly farts, then says,
    "Broccoli-- .49 cents a pound!"
Thought you could use some cheering up after all that worry. 🙂

God bless you and your mom!
