i dont know the complete story yet. but i know sort of why it happen.

last night, supposedly, my mom's friend hung herself in the garage, taking her own life.

she was in a family, pretty broken up because her husband had cancer. i dont know what kind yet, but it was really really bad from what i heard. it may not seem like it, but it was really hard for her to take care of her husband. she had a daughter that graduated from stanford, that didnt have a job because she needed to help take care of her dad. perhaps the mother lacked support emotionally...from what i heard from my mom, she was a very proud person who really really cared for her children. (you knows those type of parents). well, last night, her husband was suppose to go to the hospital for some kimo-therapy. he called for his wife but there was no response, and he thought she was at the park with her son. so he decided to go himself. when he stpped in the garage, there she was, hanged. she left no note or anything at all. she just killed herself. she never mentioned suicide before. now that her family came to think of it, she might have given hints, but they were in no way directly related to this incident. there was no way they could have told that she would go this far. she probably hid it from her family...just felt like sharing..its quite disturbing to me, even though i didnt know her. i have seen her a couple of times before. my mom and her used to talk at the library a lot..

So the father went to kill himself and his wife did it first, right?

It's hard to tell if somebody is severely depressed if they are not acting differently because they never lead much of a happy life and cancer of spouse could do that to a person.

That's very sad. :(

Everyone experiences times in their lives when problems mount up and everything seems hopeless...pointless...useless. Some of us sink too deep to recover. I had a classmate in middle school hang himself in the basement where his mother found him. Let's remember to seek out help from friends, family and even professionals when we find ourselves sinking.

Your mother will likely need your support and understanding as she adjusts to the sudden death of her friend.

Take care of yourself too.

So much so that she killed herself. Sorry if this is an unpopular view but in my opinion suicide is for the weak. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family but she acted very selfishly in doing what she did.

:( I would think about maybe getting that child some counseling. I can't imagine how hard that would be.
