In 1999 in Katy TX (town immediately west of houston) my mothers coworker was murdered in her home. She was eight months pregnant, and was killed by shotgun to the face while hiding in a closet (with a phone, probably trying to call for help).
It was well known he was having an affair, and after the murder he went on to marry the same girl. He was a football coach and local HS football hero. He went free for SIX years.
Anyways, he was finally arrested and my mom was selected by the DA as a witness. Im not exactly sure what she is supposed to testify about.
Anyways, this sort of thing doesn't happen all the time so I thought I would share. I think its also a pretty juicy story (pregnant / affair / no arrests etc.).
