My Mom Bought A New Cell Phone

so my mom, being a small business boss, and feeling so high and mighty decides to buy more some sh!t to show off. she broke her last phone, so she wants a new one. she happens to have her eye on a motorola V710 and guess what? she bought it tonight! you know what's even better? since this phone is so feature-packed, it's going to confuse her more than it allows her to call people! i can't believe this crap. she probably won't even be using half the features the phone has. hell, she doesn't even know what the features are! she just wants to show off and waste money and then come home bitching at me, her 16 year old son, that i should go work at her office and help make money for the family which is actually going into her savings for her next show-off item. tonight, i will bitch at her. and i am officially not helping out "the family" anymore.

heh.. i just got that phone too.

so far it's pretty cool. did she get herself a bluetooth headset? mine is in transit. the phone got here first.

not a bad phone.

she has the money, but it's deducted from the family money. which is used to feed us and clothe us. i'm angry because she wastes money and then bitches at me to work.

yes...it's top of the line (or near it anyways) phone for verizon wireless...i'm thinking since she bought it and she's going to buy me a cell phone next year, she should hand it to me and get herself a phone that has only the features 'call' and 'end call'.

if by any chance you are asian... you have the asian mother syndrome. she must have the next best thing to show off to her friends, i.e. one gets a new car, the next has to get another new car, even though they make only 30k a year. (NO JOKE.)

my mom's like that, but she's not that crazy on cell phones, she goes to whoever has a free one.

haha, i'm guessing i do have the asian mother syndrome. she used to brag about her sons til they started sucking in school and then bragged about her office. i say this is the.. 4th strike for her. she bought a $500 treadmill when she could have gotten a $250 one. she stole my sister's computer and brought it over to her office so she can have 5 computers there. and now my sister is computerless and the computer is not even used over there. and she (my mom) bought a telephone set w/ an extra headset. now there's about 8 telephone receivers at her office so wherever she sits, she can grab a phone w/o getting up. jesus.

do you have enough to eat? do you have clothes on your back? I bet the answer to both is "yes", so kindly STFU and go to work.

my moms just the opposite. She wanted any phone that would make phone calls. But I got her a Sanyo 8100 camera phone instead. She's very, very frugle and cheap when it comes to most things, but I have her beat. At first she was mad that I was buying such an expensive phone (over $100 after a $150 rebate from Sprint for new 2 year contracts) until I told her that after our contract was up, she could return the phone to costco and get the $200+ back 😀

you're an asshole

eh, yeah sure you could look at it as abusing. Seeing as though I was even a costco member, the only reason I found out that you could do that was from the Sprint rep at the kiosk at our Costco. From talking to the people at the return counter, they know exactly what their members do and seem to have no problem with it. And if they do have a problem with it, then they'll simply change their policy to the match the new computer one.

i help out a few hours each week, but those few hours count in my teen life because i've been working hard for A's and B's and i have martial arts to attend. and of course, i do enjoy playing games. 'all work and no play makes jack a dull boy.' and you all can go ahead and call me a selfish bastard right now, but comparing me to the rest of my school population, they'd be spoiled in comparison to me.

I've lost Saturdays and school breaks helping my parents out for the ENTIRE DAY.

Yes, I can complain. But if you think about it...if you can help out, why not.

I come from a restaurant family so I have had to work every friday, saturday, some sundays, extra days over summer/winter break, valentines day, new years eve, mothers/fathers day, labor day, and any other time we are short on staff since I was 13.

They made me give up my Sundays for tutoring that I didn't need which lasted until I entered college, commuted so I could 'work'.

I lost my childhood.

I'm 24 and still there (same school for grad school) while my two sisters 17 and 19 never worked, ever. WTF is up with that. Just because they are girls they can't answer phones and work the register?

I seriously only missed work twice because I was sick and got Fridays off for 2 summers because I got an internship.

The only upside is that I don't have to pay for school. (in gradschool now, finish up in May).

My idiot mother wants to open another restaurant and have me help her on Sundays and in the mornings before school + breaks. I told her to go F off and she yells at me every 2 weeks for not 'supporting' her.

I just got out of work today, thank Jeebus it is a dry town, or else I'd be stuck working until 1am.

When I finish school in May and get a job I'm moving out and they can go find another work horse.

When I get a real job they want me to come back and help out on saturdays, some sundays, and holidays. I told them they can go F themselves.

I've paid my dues, now leave me alone.

sounds like you are just jealous that she's spending the money on herself and not you.
It's not your money to begin with, so stfu and work harder.
