My modding tools broke. Whats a good Dremel type tool?

Ahh... My faithful tool crapped out on me and I plan on doing some major reconstruction of my aluminum case this spring break.

Does anyone have any recommendations of good dremel type tools? Yea, the typical Dremels with speed variations, but what about Black and Decker and such?

Get the blue Ryobi multi-tool. It is cheaper than Dremel and it has alot more low-end torque than Dremel. I know it, because I bought both with a plan to keep the one I like. I kept the Ryobi

Cool. I've never heard of it though. Do you know any sites that sell it? Does Home Depot/Ace hardware carry them?
 
I got mine from Home Depot. $80 or something in 1998 for the whole set including flex cable.


I like the switch better than Dremel too. Dremel use a same switch for speed control and power. Ryobi has a dial in speed setting and a separate rocker switch for power on/off.

Mine is blue, but I'm not responsible if the modern model comes in a different color 😉

Coos. Looks like I'll have something to shop for. So far its a choice between the dremem 15k-35k rpm variation speed, the blue Ryobi multi-tool, and the RTX from Black & Decker.
