I personally returned every monitor with a single dead/hot pixel. When you bring it home BRAND NEW, it must be perfect.
And my $400 Compaq is assembled perfectly.

seriously i really think these are minor things and he's just ridiculously anal.
this isn't a new ferrari. its a $1300 laptop. and considering what is in it, $1300 isnt even that much. I mean it would be nice if the hard drive tray was flush , etc but seriously were you expecting that from a piece of consumer electronics? you are probably the same type of person who crys when a monitor has 1 single dead pixel.
$1300 is dirt cheap for what the xps m1330 has , if you want to have a real reason to whine get a sony viao tx and pay twice as much. This is getting what you paid for and if anything you are still getting a great deal seeing as the laptop is still fairly well spec'd out by default.

Keep in mind he paid $1900....
Regardless of whether he paid $2000 or $20, there's no reason why Dell should be sending out laptops with such poor assembly. Some of the stuff he was definitely just anal about, like the HDD bay and SD slot not being flush, but some of the stuff he complained about were legit IMO. Half the point of buying something new (especially a laptop) is that you'd expect it to be in good condtion. Buying something new with dents in it is not a good look for Dell.
