wow...this is really a step down. But I guess I can't complain for the price I paid. ($5 for $40 speakers)

i blew two sets of logitech 2.1 speakers (z-340s?), and a set of z-640s at college over three years ;) Best thing was i got them replaced under warranty every time, then refunded after the z-640s :D

Sounded like the sub cone was torn in all three :p So i bought a set of Altec Lansing 5.1s (with a ported sub, not one of those bass reflex jobs like all my logitech ones), and i've been abusing that for nearly a year now with no i'll effects so far. It has a lot better mid-range than my logitech sets as well :)

Mine did too a couple years ago (Z560s). Are they still under warranty? If so, just give Logitech a call and they'll tell you how to get a new set. Within about 2 weeks, I had a brand new set of Z560s sitting on my doorstep.

My thread on the issue

Out of curiosity, what is the standard warranty period for Logitech speakers?
