My Little Secret for Getting NewEGG Refurbs

He's my tip for getting newegg refurbs while they are still in stock. They update their internal pages before they link them to the refurb index page. For example, today, there wasn't an existing Athlon Refurb link. The Athlon Refurb page was made before they put a link to it. So today I was looking at what was available for about 20 minutes before they put a link to it. So instead of seeing all "no's" in the "in stock" field, I was seeing all "yes's" for 20 minutes. Just save a bookmark to this page and go to it directly instead of going through the refurb index page.

Why am I telling you this? I was looking at the list today and I've decided I've got way too many CPUs. Ua Lava for now.

There is a 30 day warranty on all refurbished items. If it breaks you have to pay shipping to return it.

refurbished CPU...
CPU either work or don't and they is NO way to fix it...

do they really test it or just shipped u some customer return ?

I highly doubt that a cpu can be refurbished...

i've learned from experience that you can't skimp on electronic stuff. the cost of failure and downtime is far more costly than 10 or 20bucks you save when you buy it. but thanks for showing us the trick.

Just because its new doesn't mean you'll get no failures. Newegg refurbish stuff sells out really fast...they might even be worth more than the new stuff!😉

I'm pretty sure a lot of people here horde all the referb stuff and resell on ebay (or somewhere else) for a small profit. BASTARDS. YOU GUYS TOOK MY GEFORCE3 TI200.

Ya'll hurt my head sometimes.

Think of it as a tree with branches. Just drill down on the category you're interested in and bookmark it.

Those links you guys posted goes directly to the link from the refurbished page. Nothing different!

Just navigate down normally and save it to your hotlist once you are there. Regardless of whether there is a link to it from the "Refurb Page" that bookmark will work.

I've noticed that they put things up for refurb randomly. Sometimes it's in the morning, mostly in the mid to late afternoon and sometimes at night. I was considering writing a program to check for me and then call my cell phone. It would be trivial to do.

Pardon my ignorance, but I have no clue how to use the link you have both provided. What should I type into the search info? Thanks.

Stevem627,

The Refurb page on Newegg will not have a link to a particular section if they have nothing in that section for sale. For instance, if they don't have any refurb Duron's for sale, you will not see a link on the main refurb page that says "Processors - Duron". The refurb Duron page may still exist in the Newegg web, but there won't be an actual link to it. The point they're making in this thread is that Newegg starts updating those pages with the new refurb deals before the links go live (duh). So if you bookmark the link to the refurb Duron page (rather than the main Refurb page) and keep checking it all day, you may be able to view the page before there's a link to it from the Refurb page.

Hope that makes more sense. It took me a minute to figure out what they were saying too. 🙂

or you can just do a general search for what you want
if you want a Geforce4 ti 4400 maybe just search for "4400" at various times during the day
