Yeah I am in the process of booking Venice for 3 weeks but I hear there is more to do in florence, I might just go 1 week in florence, 1 week in venice, 1 week in rome.

I'm probably going to Belize in the summer or after summer w/my GF. can't wait!

We did Venice and Florence. A LOT more to see in Florence....Uffizi, Academia, Duomo, San Miniato, Boboli Gardens, etc. And a lot more things to do in Florence....food...events. But, oh man, is Venice gorgeous. Definitely check it out for a few days at least.

I'll just say this. I really really wanted to honeymoon on a nice quiet tropical island but I eventually settled on a trip to Italy since my fiance always wanted to go. I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed it. Every meal you eat regardless of whether its at a train station or a cafe will be outstanding.

My folks go to England every year and they like it there too for the food and shows, but Italy provides you more reasons to leave your suite. 😉

Depends on what you plan on doing😉

Venice is a city that you can just spend time roaming the streets, sitting in cafes, or drinking by a canal. Florence has more museums/churches/etc than you could see in a week. If you do both, I might suggest Florence then Venice and not the other way around. Florence is pretty in its own way but it looked like just another old cramped European city after Venice.

Bruges is pretty and cozy, but the down side is you can see all of it in a day. I had two days there and wish I spent more time, it's the sort of place where you lose track of the time. Plus there's always the trappist breweries and belgian coast.

I think I found the solution:
We take a week long honeymoon...
We spend our first week as newlyweds at Venice and sleep in and walk around grab some wine hang out in an apartment on the 4th floor overlooking the canals and rooftops. After that week as honeymooners we are relaxed and...
We then take a vacation:
We head over to Florence. We spend 2 weeks in a Florence apartment within the city and enjoy the museums/churches/shops/food/wine as tourists.

We then come back from our honeymoon and enjoy our new lives together...

haha, that's how i read that

That's a long time to be in either place. We spent a week combined for Venice and Florence and that was enough to see the major sites and take in some of the culture.

Well let's see
$685 each plane ticket = $1370
$787.5 for the apartment in venice for a week = $787.5
$550 for the apartment in florence for 1 week = $1100.00 for 2 weeks
Total $3257.50

With a budget of $6000 our food/activities/drinks/travel will total ~ $3000
We will carry about $4000 on us

We may cut it a week short if our budget is overblown

You're smoking the bejesus out of some crack if you want to go to Morocco on your honeymoon. I'VE BEEN THERE. It isn't romantic.

It honestly isn't an opinion based thing. Have you been to Morocco?

I have never been to Morocco (would love to go someday), but from first hand testimony, I would not consider it the ideal honeymoon spot, unless you are in the adventurous sort of mood.

However, I have been to Florence and Venice (studied abroad fall semester). Florence is amazing, and there is soo much to do, and there are some classic romantic spots (email/pm me if u end up going). VEnice is hands down the most "romantic" though. The setting/ambiance/everything just exudes it. unfortunately, it is outrageously expensive (lol, the gondolas are a ripoff), and there is not as much to do as in Florence.....but simply going if only to sit in San Marco square for one night is worth it imo.

I think your best bet would be to spend about 2/3 of your time in Florence, and then 1/3 in Venice. The train ride isn't bad. Oh yeah! one warning. If staying in Venice, make sure to get a hotel in Venice proper, *not* Venice-Marghera.

You looking to relax on a beach on your honeymoon or see the sights? Bali might be a good deal right now considering all its recent bad press with terrorist bombings of nightclubs =/
