You need to find a way to get a handle on yourself. If you go to pieces in school the real world is going to devastate you. School is easy. You should seriously seek some help.

Heh.. I am already seeing a shrink, but maybe I need a better one :p

Sounds like it. You cannot function as an adult in a REAL job if you are having panic attacks.

Have you gone to law school? Then shut the fvck up.

Law school is a serious undertaking and than the average adults real world(a crappy 9-5 desk jockey type job). The first year of law school is the most difficult year in any lawyers entire life.

I know I still have it better than a LOT of people, but man, I can't see the light at the end of the tunnel right now.
you internalize your stress, in other words you handle it terribly and it affects your health.
i can't see you being a good lawyer at that rate.

You will either put these pressures aside and get your mind back on your classwork or you will allow these pressures to destroy your school achievements. Either way, the choice is yours and only you (not your brother, grandfather, mother, or us) will live with the lost potential.

Get your attention back to school and quit thinking about pressures outside of your classes.
Move out from your home if you have to. School should be your number one priority for YOU right now. The teenage angst of your younger brother should not be allowed to interfere with your academic achievement.

The loss will be yours alone.

Well, I guess it remains to be seen. I know a ton of people taking drugs and or abusing drugs/booze in school right now. Let's just say, I am not the only one who feel like ****** at law school. That said, I have been suprised how stressful it has been.

yup... you have to just wait it out.

If/when your brother realizes what a stupid mistake he just did, he will come back.

Was he into drugs, BTW?

you need to find some down time and relax though. what is the sense of busting balls to get through law school and then having your health go down the sh!tter?

how about taking up yoga, meditation, or something similar? exercise is also a good way to shake the stress of the day.

as for your brother, he's 16, let the little brat learn a life's lesson on his own.

Absolutely fantastic idea! OP, if you keep getting worked up you will have an increasing amount of panic attacks.

You need to calm down and let your mother work with the police to find your younger brother. He's 16, he's probably got street smarts and I bet he'll be okay.

Stop worrying about things you cannot change.

that's absolute bullsh1t, one man's suffering is not conditional or related to anything else.

For those of you who are saying, "this is nothing, wait til you get to real life," you have no idea what the hell you're talking about. Having a child or a sibling run off is an incredibly worrisome and stressful situation. Law school is hardly a walk in the park, to boot.

OP, your brother will be fine. I know it doesn't help calm your mom down, but it's true. Spend some time shutting these things out and focusing on keeping yourself calm. Spend a little time reading a book or going for a walk. Then spend some time getting done what you need to do, be that homework or class or whatever. In each of these activities, shut out the other things that are going on and use tunnel vision to stay focused only one what you're doing. Once you get a few things behind you, you'll feel a little more caught up and that will help you stay more calm and stable for real.

when your life seems to be going to hell...sometimes you just got say fvck it and sit back and enjoy the sunrise life is short (see the stckied thread started by acemcmac before he passed)

there will always be stress in your life...and there will always be someone worse off than you..but you got to learn how to handle stress

step back for a minute calm down and prioritize, take care of your health, your school work, calm your mom and let your bro contact you, and respect your grandfather...

End your life now. It's obvious you cannot handle what's been given to you nor do you want to, judging by your statements.
