makes me hate the police state we live in even more...

i mean, im just a normal guy, i try my best to help others whenever i can...

and they treat me like a criminal....
he just gave them to me, i dont even take them....thought my wife might like them..
That's because you are a criminal. I feel sorry for your baby. Sounds like your wife is an addict as well. Maybe the foster system would be a better place for your child.

she's not an addict, she'll take a valium every once in a while...like once a month to relax... just like drinking a beer in my eyes..

Well, you can look at it as a victimless crime if you want but you are forgetting one person above all you should consider who is a victim....your child.

You are a big boy now and big boys make big decisions...you choose poorly and now paying the price. Do I feel for you? No.

Do I feel for your family? Yes.

Your "victimless" addiction can and will eventually have an impact on your child...you obviously see your actions as harmless but what if in the future your child catches you or finds out that you do drugs regularly? We all know that children often imitate their parents and since he/she sees you do it now...when the opportunity arises for her to make a decision whether or not to partake in pot, then maybe x or possibly graduating to meth she will reflect back upon her daddy who did drugs and "turned out ok."

Is that what you want for your child?

When you look at her and tell her "don't do drugs" do you want her to look at you and see not her father, but another lame hypocrite telling her what to do?

I guess if that is the kind of relationship you want with your kid...go ahead.

Most people with an ounce of brain would choose something different.

did I do drugs? yes I did....25 years ago when I was in school...but as a grown up I have never touched it...does that make me better than you? To some maybe...I just see it as choosing the rest of my life and those around me that I care about to be more important than a moment of high.

His child is a victim because mainly because he'll be getting sent to jail instead of rehab.

No his child is a victim because the father (and sounds like mother) is a drug addict. though i think rehab should be 1st option.

Seriously, if you are going to continue to smoke weed and maybe do drugs, you ought to move the hell away from Texas. Here in California most drug users end up in drug rehab, not jail.

Well, if you want to argue that parents taking drugs is child abuse - and thats a slipperly slope we don't want to get on, considering the legality of certain drugs.

Have you lawyered up yet?

no, the legal system in my county moves so slow there's no need to yet...

for some it takes jail to be rehab...if you can't quit for the sake of your child, you probably don't have much self control at this point anyway.

think about the illegal mp3's you have on your machine...that's a federal offense...worse then what i did.
MP3s don't leave you stoned when your baby is crying because you haven't fed it all day.

my baby is fat and happy, and we live in a private gated community, i make enough money to support my family with no problem.

Maybe jail time is what you need to break the addiction, since you apparently weren't trying to break it on your own.

You have learned nothing.
You still blame society for problems resulting from your actions.
I feel sorry for your family.
You need rehab.

carted us off to jail....

he got distribution of a dangerous drug..i got posession of a dangerous drug.. there wasnt any money exchanged or anything..

Didn't you start this thread by saying that you were addicted to oxycodone and that your addiction has finally caught up with you? I must be missing something.

Anyway, I assume that you've already discussed your case with a good attorney. Maybe you can still get off with drug treatment rather than jail time. It's too bad you didn't voluntarily put yourself into it sooner.

Good luck!

Truth be told, it sounds like your life started going to hell years ago. You just hit rock bottom today. With any luck you'll get a good lawyer, plea bargain yourself into rehab, and move on with your life.

You get 24 hours to b!tch about it and feel sorry for yourself. Yeah it sucks, yeah the system sucks, yeah maybe you didnt deserve it. Whatever. It did happen and now you need to deal with it. It's time to get your arse moving and do some damage control. Get a lawyer right now. Get yourself into a rehab program. Attend regularly, do everything you're supposed to do, including regular drug testing to show your staying clean. If it does take months for this to go to court then that means you have months to be pro-active and get your shyt together. That will impress the courts and maybe the judge will think you are finally taking this seriously and it might defer your sentence. If you sit around and dont take any responsibility and do nothing about it, then you deserve no sympathy.
