My LED swapped keyboard is blinding me

I swapped the LEDs on my keyboard for white ones and it's like staring at high beams. :Q

Ok well, not that bad, but it is bright enough now that it's slightly annoying.

Why did you swap the LED's??? They were green for a reason you know... ;)

Color it neatly with a dark marker. Enough to show its on and not blind you.

Wouldn't it be a lot neater just to dim it with a resistor?

I cut off my foot and the blood is staining my carpet

Well...YOU DID IT...did you not consider the possible negative repercussions first? Anyway, if you can't replace them (I don't see why not, if you have already REPLACED them) just tape over them .

BTW, what's that silver thing on the right? A laser pointer?

cause it was a dinky 3mm LED, I didn't expect it to be bright at all. This is the brightest LED of this size I've ever seen. 5mm is typical size.

That's my space pen. My keyboard doubles as a pen holder. :p

That's pretty cool OS, I'd think about doing that, but alas, m K/B doesn't have any LED's.

Hmm... my marker is in front of me, so that would a hell of a lot faster. ;)

Yeah, supposedly in zero gravity and in a vacuum also. In case I ever get abducted by aliens, ejected into outer space and I need to write a rescue note or something.

Heh... I wonder how many times he's used it to write upside down and underwater so far!

Millions probably. Millions.

I've been meaning to swap out the LEDs on my keyboard but don't know what sized ones are required. Don't feel like gutting the keyboard to find out. I don't want it to be that bright. What sized LEDs are they suppose to be and what voltage do you need?

You need to take apart your keyboard to find out what size the LEDs are. I've never really measured or thought about what voltage I needed, I just swap whatever I feel like and it works.

Yeah but that's not quite as stylish as an overengineered pen polished to a mirror finish. :p
