When I print from my laser printer it causes my smoke detector to chirp but does my breaker not trip?

I have the HL-2270DW

It's likely a voltage drop causing the detector to chirp. Your voltage is dropping momentarily under the load of the printer kicking on, and your detector is very sensitive to that. Your circuit breaker couldn't care less.

Thanks for the help. Would this cause any damage to the HT equipment I have?

Yes, but in most states a hardwired smoke detectors have do be on their own circuit.
