all other games favour the house so much its not funny

You do not have the slightest idea of which you are talking about. Where do you play BJ where you can get the odds against you down to .008 of 1% .

wow.......you really have guts to gamble it all.

I brought 300 dollars to Las Vegas and lost about 160 or so and spent the rest on the trip there. I cant imagine someone gambling all their savings away......

lol " I guess thing didn't work out as i planned"

You didn't plan on loosing your money? Casinos are a place to go with money you don't want anymore. There is a reason people choose to put their money in the stock market, savings accounts, and cd's instead of hopping a plane to try and retire.

Even though this thread sort of feels like a troll, its still funnier than stealing a car back from the towing company :D

If you're serious though take it as a lesson learned and read some books and really think before you spend money in the future.

also:
(see sig) <------ NOOOOOO you brought a flashback to the worst movie....EVAR! :D

Not that I'm any kind of an expert, but I thought that Craps had the most favorable odds(by tenths of percentage points), but if you card count or play a system, BlackJack could be swung in your favor.

That used to be true but now with the automatic shuffling machines that's all gone too.:(

How many high class ladies could you have "borrowed" for $10,000? Probably one every night for a month. You would have remembered that for the rest of your life.

The more cards there are in a Blackjack deck, the easier it is to "count" the deck.

Card counters never really counted each single card. The most sucessful ones just kept a running ratio of high to low cards calculated. A deck that is rich in high number cards and low in low number cards favours the player, the opposite situation favours the house.

It wasn't hard for clever people to exploit this type of thing. Read the book "Bringing Down the House" about an MIT Blackjack team that employed this strategy to basically "own" the house. They made millions.

Card shuffling machines have made it almost impossible to use tricks like noting hotspots in a poorly shuffled deck, but larger shoes just make it easier for high-low ratio counters. With a larger number of cards, the ratio becomes more and more significant/accurate near the last quarter of the deck.

Also, to the guy who blew 3 years of savings in a weekend..... give your head a shake!
