My labtop is acting weird...

Hey guys, maybe someone can help me with this problem.

My labtop was doing fine a few days ago and then all the sudden when i start up the computer is would sometimes give me a 01860(or some number error) and I would have to restart the computer....but now it doesn't even do that anymore. When i start up, it would show me the IBM bootup screen and then the LCD would go dark immediately after. Apparently windows is still running and everything(I can shine a flashlight or something on the screen and still see the screen). I can wait a while so that my LCD shuts off, and then when i move the mouse again, I can see everything just fine for a second, and then it dims down so I can't see anything anymore....It really is strange.
Does anyone have a clue what my labtop is doing?....
I have an IBM thinkpad.

That sounds (unfortunately) like the backlight on your LCD display is burning out/failing. That happens. It is not considered a user repairable item. Be prepared to spend a few bucks if you want it fixed. 🙁
 
drats.... hopefully it won't cost too much....or i can go out and just get another computer...hehe
best buy or somewhere could fix it right?
 
could just be the inverter dying too.... I wouldnt ever take anything to bestbuy or similar for repairs....call ibm
