My KX7-333 handles Barton 2500 nicely ...

I unlocked the chip with a simple closing of the 5th L3 bridge.
(although the bridge looked closed anyway (no visible cut))

I ran Prime95 all night at 11 x 189.9 = 2080 error free with 1.75v.

I bumped it up to 12.5 but needed to much voltage for Prime95.
(over 1.8v)

So I been running Prime at 12 x 189.9 = 2280 with 1.8v at a 50 - 52c load temp.

That's a XP3400 rated chip in a 133 MB.

Nice. If my NF7-S is dead I'm for good I'm gonna RMA it and sell it and buy a new Via motherboard. Prolly an Epox KT600. :|

what is wrong here? oh yeah you are gonna trade a great NF2 board for a VIA board. are you nuts? if your nf7 is dead then rma it and use the one they send you they are great boards.

I've been using NF2 boards for 7 months now and when they run they run fast, but sometimes they can be problematic as hell. They are very picky about memory, they are very unforgiving when it comes to BIOS/CMOS writes, the drivers are not all that hot, and that's just my short list of flaws. If Via had made a dual channel S462 chipset I'd have never went NVidia.

Your problems are the minority.

My memory effiency is 93% - Sandra 3332/3113 using DC with 441fsb in my NF7-S.

Not all components are the same. Nor will all of them perform the same. Now try to put them together in a box. lol
Sometimes it's luck.

This thread is for my KX7-333 and my weird ass Barton.

I found some info on possibly stablizing Bartons with a wire trick default voltage mod.
(making it a 400 fsb chip rather than a 333)

so,,, I my put it back in my NF7 to try it at 441 again

But ,,, here is some benchies in my KX7-333

Sandra 2003 v9.44

CPU - 8470 / 3439
MEM - 2774 / 2614 - 94% effiency

Isn't the 2500+ a 166FSB with an 11 multiplier? Then the 5th bridge would be closed and the low mutpliers selected.

I have lower and higher mults.

Although the BIOS only goes up tp 12.5

I tested 10 thru 12.5

(1900 to 2375 Mhz with 189.9 fsb)

I didnt want to disassemble my rig again if I didnt have the mults.
So,,, I closed it with defroster paint, just to make sure.

My chip was green, and like I said ,,, no visible cut,,, I just painted between the contacts.
It has a green plastic looking base. The cuts I did see were Extremely tiny.
Since the base was unfamiliar to me ,,, I wanted to make sure.

You must remember the KX7-333 wont let you have any non-defualt mults. You must unlock any chip if you want to OC with mults other than default.
