My knee is broken...

Old enough that my knee thinks it needs advanced notice to ride 16 miles apparently. 🙁

I am just asking because the ride height can play a huge factor in knee issues as TheUnk previously mentioned. You may not have noticed it when you were young...but it is affecting you much more as you age.

Ride height is OK. This bike was sized for me back when and I'm the same height today.

I've had heat on my knee the last few hours and it's feel pretty good at the moment.

Wow....16 miles your first ride? I just started getting back into riding my bike and I feel like I'm going to die after riding just 2 miles.

I'm such a failure 🙁

Sorry, but I rather have perfect health and enough to live by versus shit loads of money but having to take meds everyday to control the pain. Oh wait...
50 years old often get fired when the playing gets rough because they're the highest paid. And after that, finding a job is often difficult.
So you can have the worst of both worlds.

No worries, he's not getting out of this with his health or $$. None of us are.

I don't take meds every day (in fact, this is the only med of any kind I've taken in probably 30+ days, the last med was cough syrup). In fact my health is probably better than most people in their 20s. I also don't have tons of money, so I guess I don't fit into your weird example.

i've been dealing with it too.. It has to do with our quad muscles not being strong enough or one side being stronger than the other.. work on building your quads and you will be better.

Can I see a picture of your knee? I'm serious. I like looking at injuries. I have a friend who busted her knee and it looked knarly.

I ride 7 miles after work every day in mixed terrain (trail path paved, unpaved and dirt/mud). 16 miles first time out is impressive. Not sure after having started riding again about 2 months ago I would attempt to do that many at once.

Any kind of bruising? I had something like this a few months back, some hiking with family and other than some soreness in my left knee/thigh immediately after the hike. Didn't think anything of it, but that night several hours later, I couldn't put pressure on that leg. After icing it and the following day, the pain was excruciating, couldn't walk and also noticed some bruising.

Had to go to the ER, and doctor determined I had a hemotoma of the thigh, bruises were obvious now entire inner left thigh and around the knee. I'm on Coumadin (blood thinners) for my artificial heart valve, and I guess I tore/pulled a muscle that caused some excessive bleeding. Just say I was out for a couple weeks, with just some pain killers, an ace bandage wrapped around the leg, and instructions to take it easy.
