Hes back at home with my dad right now but im pretty worried.. they have him hooked up to an IV and cant even walk anymore... 🙁 He started acting sick about 2 days ago and has gone downhill since...

Has anyone ever been through this with their cat before??? 🙁

My parents went through it two years ago with my cat while I was away at school. At this point the best thing for her it to put her down and end her suffering. She doesn't want to be hooked up to an IV, and what is worse is that she doesn't understand what is happening to her.

I'm very sorry. I know what you are going through.

Ryan

One of my kitty's had blood in her urine and couldn't control her movements. We had to put her down when i was home in Sept.

Sorry dude....hope he pulls through...

Sorry. That is what happened to my old cat. We felt bad because she was in so much pain she didn't even want to be around us anymore. 🙁

Why do people let animals suffer? I'm sorry, but you know your cat is dying AND it's in pain. What the hell are you doing giving it an IV? Let the get go quickly and painlessly instead of making it stick around in pain just so you can "enjoy it's company."

A dear friend did this with her 13-year old Pomeranian. Normally, theydon't even live half that long...the poor little doggie was blind, deaf, toothless, had to be bottle fed and on dialysis. From what I understand, something ruptured inside the dog overnight..it died a painful drawn-out death as it's digestive fluids burned it from the inside out. :|

I love how you always seem to avoid the tact in your posts. 😀

But I agree with you.

Aphex...I think it's time to let him go. 🙁

I'm not trying purposely to be mean or tactless...I have lotsa tact...but I choose when to use it. I just hate to see animals suffer. I'm not a PETA-idiot by any means. I believe in eating raw, red meat, wearing fur and hunting for food. But make it quick. Put the poor thing to sleep....it's what Mr. Bigglesworth would want. 🙂

I know what you're going through. I took mine to NC State Vet Hospital and spent $2,000 on her. She was having kidney problems. They claim they had fix everything. A year later her kidneys failed again. She was in agony and so I had her put to sleep. She was suffering and I couldn't let her go through the pain again.

I wish the best of luck for yours.

Interesting how people will offer advice on putting down dogs with these afflictions, while we are disgusted by someone advising the same fate for a person with similar problems. I have known at least 2 people with the same problems as this dog, and they had to wait for death.

Also, why are dogs put to sleep, euthanized, put down, etc while people are murdered? Does it somehow make the owner feel better?

Yes, my family had a cat that died from kidney failure about 10 years ago. She was 17 years old. My mom had her from even before she was married. I'm sorry to hear about your cat. I hope he makes it.

How old is the cat?

cats can get kidney failure from licking anti-freeze....

those spray cans that de-ice windows are usually made with anti-freeze.... also, cat likes the taste of antifreeze....
