I have a microsoft internet keyboard pro with the built in usb ports. It has 2 connectors, 1 PS/2 and 1 USB. When I first got the keyboard I plugged in the USB port and it didn't work and never could get it to work. Up until recently my friend told me that I needed to enable the USB Keyboard support in the Bios in order for it to work. I finally enabled it and plugged in the USB port but it sucks. I can be typing something then all of a sudden it'll crap out on me. So I have to reboot my computer and same thing happens. This usb keyboard is totally useless.

It's good old PS2 for me, for the mouse and the KB.

I guess I could try the USB port for my mouse (I'd just pull off the USP to PS2 adapter), but sadly, I don't enjoy messing with my computer enough anymore to try changing what works.

USB is a nice concept, but it often suck in its implementation. Go with PS2.

Methinks the problem lies not in the keyboard.

You should NOT need BIOS support for USB keyboard turned on. That will probably cause more problems than it solves.

Ensure that the USB ports are turned on in the bios but that legacy support for usb keyboards is not.

Start in device manager and tell us what you see there. And let us know what OS you're using.

Yeah I tried switching over to dvorak once, got up to at least 70wpm, but I gave up and went back to qwerty cause I need to use other keyboards too.
