I haven't really approached the topic with my Manhattan circle of peeps.

When it comes to food, it seems like all they post about all the restaurants they've been eating at.

Reminder that I need to pick up a phone every once in awhile for non work related stuff
Wow, eating in person, at a restaurant. Memories.

Thread reported! These are boarder line snuff images, certainly nsfw!

I mean you just posted an image of what, 1, 2 people at a single table outside?! How many of them weren't able to finish their meal because they were shot at or because the building burned down?

Just wow!

Meeting my sorta date for a ride tomorrow at noon. About another 30 miles. Mostly in Manhattan this time. I've ridden through half of Brooklyn the last two weekends and it's getting fruitless looking for the mobs there.

I say sorta date cause I'm not really sure what to call it. She was at the first meetup ride I did with the group 2 weekends ago, then the next one last weekend. This weekend's group ride didn't seem as good so I sent her a message via the Meetup app and asked her to go on a ride with me instead, and she said yes.

Anyways, will be mostly riding on the waterfront but will cut into the upper west side and upper east side neighborhoods. Maybe I'll pass by the Lucerne hotel where DeBlasio housed some homeless that got some NIMBY's all up in arms. Maybe I'll find some anarchy there?

If you want to catch a glimpse of some of the worst criminals in the US, ride through the Financial District.

Did another 30 something miles today in the city - almost all in Manhattan with a little bit in Queens. All the way from the southern tip to up in the low 100's of the Upper East and Upper West side. Just took a few shots of some outdoor dining and the view from a bridge. Mostly spent my time talking to my date and just enjoying the scenery and buzz of people. Did not see any antifa again but did see a lot of people outdoor dining and chilling outside as usual, plus a lot of very attractive women out and about, lots of people with puppies and dogs, bands playing in the park and kids frolicking. I hope the weather holds for this upcoming weekend, time to plan a new route!

Listen, it's chaos and anarchy and rioting everywhere. It has to be true, otherwise Death Cult Leader would be a liar, and that's just not possible.

Also: Antifa.

I did read about an absolute boatload of cops being dicks last night in the village and eyewitnesses and video countering their claims. After breaking up a small art protest in Washington Square park. I mean an art fucking protest in Washington Square park - that's half the reason people go to Washington Square park is to see art and characters that have to do with art. It's part of the cultural fabric of the village. Some of these cops are total power high driven jock frat boy douchebags.

The Halloween Parade in the Village should be interesting this year.

It's been cancelled due to the pandemic. I've had some good times at the halloween parade and it's surrounding festivities in the village the years I've gone.

Well here in San Diego the protests end without mass destruction these days and they go home. If they ever have a serious flare up again then it will be live on reddit and everywhere else.

NYC will be in deep shit if they don't get some federal aid sooner than later. Which the Trump admin won't do out of basically political spite. So those idiots saying the city is dystopian now and Trump can save it if he wins - well they are not just wrong about the current situation but also the future one. The city is making do right now but will be properly fucked under a 2nd Trump administration and Republican senate.

If only it were simple for NY state to send less federal dollars to the fed so that it was not subsidizing poorer red states, and that downstate NY would stop subsidizing upstate NY. But apparently the redistribution of wealth is just fine to all these anti-socialist conservatives when it suits them.

Did another thirtysomething miles through the city today, straight through Manhattan and focused mostly on Queens, all the way pretty much to the border of Long Island, then ended up back in Astoria where we had a pleasant dinner, outdoors of course. Restaurants were busy. After 30+ miles and food I was tired so I took the train back to Manhattan to get back to Jersey. Plenty of people out and about and on the trains going about their business. Did not see any antifa or BLM but did see one thing you would not have seen pre-pandemic, a line to a food bank at a church parking lot that was very very long. Very sad. I know it's like that all over the country.

Meanwhile, the financial markets are awash in liquidity. Maybe it will trickle down, I suppose.

Meanwhile in reality land....

Republicans blame Democrats for crime — but new data shows higher murder rates in red states | Salon.com

Yes, crime is up. But eight of the 10 states with the highest murder rates in 2020 voted for Donald Trump

Indeed. NYC was in really bad shape in the 80's but those days are long gone, but if you listen to the right wing, that's what it's like, today. in fact i hear many right wingers basically explain that NYC is like an anarchist city. Meanwhile the majority of my social life last year was in fucking New York City.

My ex who moved to NYC from Atlanta around 12-13 years ago - all her relatives in the South were like OMG YOU ARE GONNA GET KILLED IT'S NYC!

meanwhile the murder rates in Atlanta and in major cities in Texas, where she was from, were higher than in NYC. the same is true today.
