So I am sitting here doing tech support for these goobers who call in who sign up for these "install it yourself" things yet know nothing about computers and I am thinking of how many other things I would like to be doing. Need to earn money somehow though. Anybody out there like their job??

nope.......my job is retail, and sometimes, people are just so mean. I'm just waiting till I find some kind of intern, graduate college, leave my retail job, and find a REAL job(computer engineer related ofcourse).

I work retail... except I wield management power at my job so I'm paid to be a jackass to the jackasses that come into my store.

Windows application software development for real users (not corporate end-user stuff).

Not all of every day is filled with magical happy fun but it's usually enjoyable and pays pretty well. And it's pretty sweet to have my work in use at universities in 40 countries.

My geezer "wisdom" for you is to find some kind of work you actually can enjoy, even if it means going back to school for a few years. You'll spend over half your waking hours at "the job" so if it's something you (mostly) like you'll waste a lot less of your life.

Try selling vacuums (Filter Queen) in homes all day long...my job sucks...but it does pay well, like tonight, made $400 in one house.

yea.. notice the word sitting in yours.... mine is standing at a register and checking out 200+ people per day with tons of groceries, and tons of coupons, half of which never work. also, no one knows how to slide their credit card and shoppers club card through the litlte machine... and the ones that do know how, their cards dont read.

its a huge pain in the ass, i would love a job answering tech support questions for people who try to install cards and such themselves... i do it for all my freinds anyway, mine as well make some $$ off of it.

I'm not sure that I could enjoy any job more than this one. I absolutely love my job.

I spent 10 years of my life as an auto mechanic. What a miserable existance that was!

Find something that you enjoy doing. You don't realize how important that really is, until you have walked in both shoes.

My sucks right now pretty much. I work with peons (sp?) at a local Walmart store. I've seen so many different things in that store happen and this is my main reason for doing good in school, I don't wanna work there any longer than I have to.

And NAV is winning out over McAfee VS in terms of quality. I forgot to mention that aspect in my post: do something you enjoy and work for a company where you respect their (your) products or services as well as their behavior.

Hehe BIG change. From wrenching, where your hands are fithy everyday even after several washings of LAVA soap, to wearing a clean suit.

How did you do it?
