My job supplied iphone 5 has dust in the camera

So, my iphone 5 has dust in the lens and it shows when taking pics. WTF? I thought apple took pride in making their products! I hate dealing with apple "geniuses". Is this something covered by apple? Or VZW? Or should I just crack this open and take an aircan to it?

My wife had the same problem with a Samsung S2. It drove her nuts, in the end she managed to convince her work to get her a new one.

With a new back or phone? I have a 64gb version that I would rather not have to back up and recreate. THX.

The solution is pretty easy, but that does not seem to fit into your workflow. 😵

Just back it up and get a new one from Apple.

Backing up to a PC and restoring is pretty painless. Over the cloud is a bit annoying because you have to be on Wifi and it takes longer.

I don't understand people hating dealing with Apple store employees. Sure, they have no clue how to fix your problem, but they usually offer you a replacement instead and let Apple deal with it afterward. It is not like it effects their $10 an hour anyway.

It's not the person persay, it's the whole mentality. Making an appointment and taking a number and shit like that. Apple stores in NYC are just fuster clucks and I have lost my patience many times in these idiot stores.

You must be a pleasure at the doctor's office and deli counter.

Wait in line and deal with it. I'd rather have appts set up than some fool waving their hands for help that can't wait their turn.

Your iCloud backs up while you sleep. Take your phone in and get a new one.

Y'all ain't been to an apple store in NYC I take it. Hehe I'm going in tomorrow.

Nothing you have described is anything new. I have had problems with reservations at some Apple Stores.

Luckily, there are a few items laying around to play with while you wait.

What line? Wait? The last time I went to an Apple store the place was packed, but I was still seen within just a few minutes of my appt time. I was in and out in a hour, and the only reason it took that long was the 40 minutes it took to back up to icloud before they swapped the phone.

The layout and way they have come up with to accomodate the absolutely astounding amount of problems that come in the store with every apple product, is really quite... well.. genius.

You can't wait a bit to put up with the fact that there's a 99.9% chance they'll replace your phone on the spot for free? 🙄

I waited 2 hours at an Apple Store once in Las Vegas. They weren't doing crap. Luckily it was after EDC weekend so I was really sluggish anyway. I spent the day reading about WWDC which happened to be the same day. I think this was last year when they upped the MBA screens to 1440x900.

But seriously, it was pretty empty and they had 1 genius working so slowly. I was irritated. All I wanted was a new charger.

Yea, if it was Appt Time +2 hours, then hopefully he went and talked to a manager about that, that's just unacceptable.

"Y'all?" What New Yorker says that? I've been to plenty of apples stores here, the wait is always 30 min or less... And isn't that better than say mailing and waiting a week with say samsung or any other brand, really

got mine replaced yesterday, make an appointment for 4:40, got to the store, blue shirt guy show me to a seat, the genius guy came, look at the picture with the dot on it, and got a new used/refurb phone out of the box for me. my phone was already wiped so did not take more than 10 min to do the serial transfer for warranty purpose. Painless for me and i was in nyc

I have. I bought my iPhone 5 on release day with a 30 minute wait on the UWS, and have done walk-ins at the Genius Bar at other locations. Just don't go to the one on 5th avenue and you should be fine.
