how old are you? (I mean that as a legit question)

I'm 23.

My mom suggested a paperweight or flowers. I would rather get her something that would last longer than a few days obviously. Someone suggested a nice pen. Would that be appropriate and thoughtful? I know she likes fine point. Maybe a nice fine point pen would be good.

spend some good money on it and an inscription on it too.....somethign like.... i want to wear u like a feed bag ;)

pen is a really good idea. flowers are totally inappropriate.

A nice pen is often used as a professional gift. Price is right, and there is nothing like having a good pen.

seconded!

I like the pen/wine ideas

A nice pen it is then.

Does anybody have any suggestions for which pen in particular or where to look? Should I have it engraved? If so, what should it say?

give her a piece of paper, on it write "3 free back rubs from upsciLLion, no expiration date". :D

The pen's a good idea. I wouldn't get it engraved, just because I wouldn't know what to say.

get her a vase or something. Definately buy something it's far more personal than a gift card. What budget are you on?
