I suppose it can’t hurt to check the RAM, though it’s unlikely as it’s the Corsair 1.35V so it should be high quality. I also never had a problem with the same RAM when booting from mechanical HDDs.

Intel’s toolbox confirmed it already had the latest firmware from the factory.

Also this happenend at POST (i.e. it’s my BIOS giving me the error) so it’s not a Windows issue.

Not yet, was going to update it when I get Ivy Bridge. If it happens again I’ll update it.

Just curious if anyone else has experienced a cold boot failure with an Intel 320 SSD?

No sir.

I have the 160 GB one running my OS since July of last year without a single issue.

AHCI mode of course, with apparently 1.87 TB of writes so far.

I’m not going to be happy if the SSD is going to start causing this. Has anyone else ever seen this?

No. But it is possible that simply another drive of any sort would have caused this.

I have ran SSDs for years, and in RAID0. I think my Intel X25-M's all four of them are 3+ years or so old now. Never lost the array, never had any corruption. Been rock solid.

My Samsung 830 64GB has been great for the last 3 months. No issues. The Samsung 830 256GB I put in my dad's machine has never given any issues.

Of course, that doesn't mean others don't have issues. But I'll be honest - I am careful (not insinuating that you are not) with my technology. So I RARELY had any problems with Hard Drives either. In fact, the last time a Hard Drive died on me was.... 1999, I think. It was like some crappy 8GB drive known to be bad from Maxter. Other than that, my only 'bad' experiences with tech breaking have been my video cards. But I just think nVidia had a bad run on the 280's since I had to RMA 3 280's within a 2 week period to get one that actually worked properly.
