try repairing internet explorer.
Click Start
-Settings
-Control Panel
in Control Panel, double click on Add/Remove Programs. If it's listed, find "Microsoft Internet Explorer [x.x] and internet tools"
highlight it and click the Add/Remove button. This will give you three options. If you choose the "repair internet explorer" option, Windows will do a little checking up on that problematic IE, slap it around some, then reboot.
You should be good to go. If not, try one of the other two options that says "Restore Internet Explorer..." yadda yadda yadda.
