Every time I open a new IE window it opens up covering the whole screen but not "maximized". What's more, it doesn't have the status bar, so each time I hover over a link I can't see where it's leading me and I have to go to "view" and select status bar.

Can anybody tell me how to make it so that IE at max size and with the status bar is the default? I looked in the advanced tools menu but couldnt figure it out. Thanks.

Hmmm.... Maximize it, go to View->Status Bar to enable the status bar, and close IE. Windows Explorer and MSIE are really weird about these things. I could never figure out the exact process to make these things stick.

I don't know about the maximizing thing, but if you open up Windows Explorer (where you can see folders, files and stuff) or just My Computer, click View and make sure Status Bar is checked, then go to Tools -> Folder Options -> View -> click on Apply to all Folders..this will make it apply to all IE windows too.
