my fried did a very similar thing but i think he used a touch screen monitor

Haven't figured it out yet.. thinking of using some type of net to hold it and have it under the seat. The glovebox is too small :(

Did you actually do any physical modifications to the PB (take the screen part off, use only the insides, etc.) or is it in plain old laptop form?

no mod. The PB has a mini DVI out, so I can take the PB inside the house and take it out to the car whenever

I've been thinkin about a carputer, or more a jeeputer. I've got the computer, just haven't decided how to do the screen. I might go with something like what you have. Nice...

Heh, I'm thinking I've got a good 24/7 use for my Dell Inspiron now. As well as something to spend some of my scholarship money on :p.
